Is My Sound Card Fried?
When I turned it back on in the morning, there was no sound. Of course, I had a 1/8" adapter to plug the guitar into my microphone jack. I don't know how good my current one was, and I don't want to get a cheap one if everything is going to sound horrible... I found that switching the cord plug ins helped. We are using cookies to make this website better. But, being that they phased that out in favor of Express Card (and consequently, phased out Express Card for USB 3.0), you can obtain a lot of cool addons very cheaply

Sounds nice but its a little pricey and im strapped for cash, The soundcard that came with my computer was only $30 but it came with my pc that i ordered That's Okay, I bought mine very used and I still got a few good years of service out of it... When checking output devices in system preferences I only have a digital out option and no listing of internal speakers.

I had to take mine to the apple store to get mine repaired. (under warranty). Sorry, I don't have Vista so I don't remember the details, but my friend had a sound problem and it was because his speakers were not selected as the sound output.
