I just put a Pioneer DVR-116DBK in a G5 2.0 dual, and it reported "unsupported". Most dvd burners are inexpensive these days. Very pleased with the build quality of the pioneer drive. Should I should get DVD±RW for ease sake?
anyway, use the latest, firmware updates always add media compatibility if you want the original firmware RPC-II from pioneer, just put the original firmware to the dangerous brother's folder, and run
That this one has 2 USB1 ports is already luxury to me. (I use this burner since 2 weeks without any problems. There are multiple speed ranges for some types of discs, and the newer ones completely confuse older drives, but the drives DO NOT issue a helpful diagnostic message. sorry to keep posting but as this machine is my digital photo studio, and i've got clients waiting on me, i'm getting a little more desperate...thanks! Anti-malware/virus software...

Although the Pioneer 111D DVD writer is shown in System Profiler as being unsupported, I was offered a choice of the internal UJ-846 or the Pioneer to burn my project to. to be simple, I download Identical RPC-I (Region Free) firmware from danerous brother site. finder doesn't see it, it doesn't show up on the desktop - i've tested cds, dvds.
